On my way!

Greetings from Germany!

I am currently sitting near my gate at the Frankfurt International Airport waiting for my connecting flight in Manchester. It leaves in a little less than an hour.

My flight here was surprisingly awesome. I couldn't believe how cool taking off was. The rush of the engines, the sudden upward thrust, the immediate shrinking of everything beneath me - I have never experienced anything like it. Everyone was super helpful getting me where I needed to go. I got really nervous and felt like a lost child since my parents couldn't go with me nearly as far as I thought they could. I truly was on my own.

But I made it.

I was surprised even further by being seated in BusinessFirst class - it was AWESOME. Lots of leg room, a nice size screen in front of me, a pillow and blanket, an amenity kit, and the sweetest flight attendant constantly bringing me drinks and amazing food. Plus, I had the window seat. My neighbor was also incredibly nice - he was a teacher and also a Doctor Who fan! Overall, BusinessFirst from United totally spoiled me. My seat even reclined all the way into a bed! I wish I had been able to sleep a little better and longer, but the anticipation was killing me.

The ONLY thing missing - I did not get to see the ocean yet. Next flight, for sure.

The gate seating area is slowly starting to fill up with more people. The airport was shockingly empty when I got here a little after 5:30AM German time. I'm starting to hear some screaming children now - let's hope they're going to a different gate. :)

I'll try to blog sometime after I get to Manchester. Can't wait to meet my first host family!

Blessings,
Lindsay

ONE MORE WEEK!!!

I am leaving for England in ONE week!!!

By this time next week, I will be on the plane! I am so unbelievably excited for this opportunity and can't wait to see how God works through it all. As of last week, I am fully funded and have my host families lined up in Manchester! God has been so faithful already, and I am ready and willing to take on any challenge that comes my way during my time there.

Plans are being finalized as well for my week in London with my best pal. We can't wait to take on London and experience as much as possible while we are there. It's going to be a great three weeks in this amazing country, and I can't wait to finally set foot there. It's been on my heart and mind (and bucket list) for so long, and now it is finally right here before me.

England, here I come!!!

Blessings,
Lindsay
